Ectopic Atrial Rhythm Ectopic Atrial Tachycardia (Example 1) Ectopic Atrial Tachycardia (Example 2) Ectopic Atrial Bradycardia (Example) An extopic atial rhythm occurs when a site outside of the sinus node in the atria creates action potentials faster than the sinus node itself resulting in the predominate pacemaker of the heart coming from the atria. Thus, the P wave would not have its normal sinus appearance (upright in lead II and biphasic in V1), however it would have a different morphology depending on exactly where it originates. |
